Wanna stay warm and toasty on a dive? Then dive dry! Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water and that keeps you warm! For divers wanting to make the most of the many world-class dive sites that the UK coastline has to offer, a drysuit is a must.
Dry suits let you dive more challenging dive sites and extend your dive season. When you have the right cold water scuba diving attire, you can stand up to the elements and take advantage of the generally better visibility that can be experienced as the temperature drops - especially at inland dive sites like Vobster Quay. As a PADI dry suit diver, you’ll be equipped to dive some of the world’s incredible dive sites in the world’s cooler regions - some of which can only be enjoyed in a dry suit, even in their warmer months.
The PADI Drysuit Specialty will give you the skills and knowledge to safely and competently dive in a drysuit. Like the PADI Open Water course, you'll start your education by studying the PADI Drysuit Diver manual at your leisure. Under the guidance of your PADI instructor, the knowledge you gain will be reinforced in the classroom. The course covers all the essential areas of drysuit diving including bouyancy control, potential hazards as well as a comprehensive discussion of the different types of drysuit and undersuit available. We'll also cover the proper care and maintenance of a drysuit.
With the theory under your belt, you will then enjoy an drysuit diving orientation session in our purpose built confined water area. Here you'll master the skills required for dry suit diving before moving on to conduct two open water dives in a drysuit!
